O události

FileEnsemble Inégan prepared under the guidance ofAdam Viktorythe works of two "solitaires" of 20th century music,Benjamin BrittenandBohuslav Martinů. Both found their specific musical language in the synthesis of modernity and tradition and never fully left the waters of tonality.

Britten's music is made attractive by the uncomplicated, yet catchy melody, inventive harmonies, unmistakable sound magic and unique atmosphere. CycleA Ceremony of Carolscomposed in 1942 to words a collection of English medieval poetry. Britten designed his tribute to old Christmas music for a three-part boys' choir with solos and harp accompaniment, which he takes on in the concertKateřina Englichová.

Between 1934 and 1959, Martinů wrote a total of six choral cycles for chamber vocal ensembles. All of them are united by the sensitivity with which he grasped folk texts.Czech madrigalsfrom 1939 are crystal clear, playful and touching and magical in their simplicity. They are also highly personalized. They reflect strong experiences from the composer's then intense relationship with Vítězslava Kaprálova. NextMadrigalscompleted in March 1959. The word "madrigal" in the title of both cycles hints at one remarkable aspect of these vocal gems: they subtly combine Czech melody with the polyphonic technique of English Renaissance secular vocal work.
