ECSTASE - Poláčková - Englichová - Squirrel 2023

One of the principles of oboist Vilém Veverka's thinking is the philosophy of advancing the actual possibilities of music, as well as finding new musical connections. Both principles are completely fulfilled by the latest project EKSTASE, in which perhaps two of the biggest stars of the contemporary Czech scene, soprano Alžběta Poláčková and harpist Kateřina Englichová, are also fundamentally involved. The ECSTASE concert, based on Alma Mahler's song of the same name, bears the poetic epithet "Valentine's musical variation" of its kind. For the year 2023, Veverka has announced a type of so-called "New Concert", which in its form will be close to - stage-wise - a theater performance. The unique artistic intention sets as one of its goals another "defense" of the factual need for live art as a whole, and not only in the sense of finding the ideal form, in this case the concert. The star-studded ensemble will offer the audience a concert performance that is completely original in terms of content and theme. The new interpretation of the music of Alma Mahler, Gabriel Fauré, George Gershwin or Leonard Bernstein and the overall concept is a leitmotif with a strong resonance for the future of performing arts.
