O události
Leoš Janáček was ahead of his time not only as a composer. He composed his "Our Father" to raise funds for a women's shelter in Brno - a highly progressive institution at the time. But it is also musically forward-looking, and is fascinating simply because of the unusual accompaniment by harp and organ. Bohuslav Martinů, on the other hand, drew on dances from his homeland for his oboe concerto, but also used elements of jazz, which he had learned to love in America.
Johannes Brahms, for his part, loved the human voice and created other impressive choral works in addition to his famous "German Requiem". The "Schicksalslied" is undoubtedly one of them. He used a poem by Friedrich Höldelin for it, which describes the contrast between heavenly and earthly life.
The choral parts will be performed by the Prague Philharmonic Choir, the soloist for the oboe concerto will be the solo oboist of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, Johannes Pfeiffer. Event in cooperation with Euroregion Elbe/Labe
